Soul Eater's power system is based on Soul Wavelength — every living being has a unique soul frequency that can be synced with partners, used as an attack, or amplified through resonance.

Weapon-Meister Resonance

When a Weapon and Meister synchronize their soul wavelengths, they enter Resonance — amplifying both their abilities. The quality of their relationship directly affects resonance quality. Soul Eater's greatest battles are about two people achieving perfect emotional synchronization under pressure.

Soul Perception

Advanced meisters can perceive souls directly — reading their size (power), color (alignment), and wavelength (type). Maka has exceptional Soul Perception from birth.

Madness Wavelength

Asura's Madness Wavelength is a corruption of the normal wavelength system — it drives anyone nearby into insanity, breaking their soul resonance. The only counter is the Anti-Demon Wavelength that Maka possesses naturally.

Lines of Sanzu (Kid)

Kid's three white lines in his hair are seals on his Shinigami power. As they connect across his hair in battle, his power grows exponentially — complete connection makes him a full Shinigami, effectively a god of death.
